Gossip Girl Art

I never seem to tire of this piece, having it made for my dining room as we speak!
And this one too!

Recent Art Purchase

I love Etsy and thank god for Pinterest and Social Media because things I would never  have discovered on my own are so easily accessed through the internet and the online design community.  I can't recall where I first saw this print, but I immediately fell in love.  After keeping it in my favorites I decided to pull the trigger when the owner, Sarah Hendrix, listed a few for sale half off due to minor scratches in the print.  Barely visible, the print is perfect.

I finally got mine framed and hung on the wall yesterday and I love it!!!  Since the size was a bit odd I had to have Aaron Brothers in Santa Monica trim it down a tad to fit into the frame.
 What do you think?

Glamour Obsession: Abstract Art

Today I am guest posting over on La Dolce Vita, read more about it here!!!  I'm also moving today and the movers will be here shortly.  I am a little sad and nostalgic, but very excited to be moving to a bigger place with more room for the 3 of us.  So many life changing events took place at this apartment on Montana and Bundy in Brentwood.  Getting engaged, starting this blog, getting laid off, getting married, finding a new career I love, getting pregnant, having a baby, going back to work, balancing work with motherhood, and of course entertaining and throwing lots of parties.  This place was really good to us, but it's time to move on and close this chapter of my life and all this change makes me really excited.  It's been so incredibly busy that my blogging has taken a backseat in my life, but I know I will have many new redecorating projects to keep me inspired and I hope you continue to read along and leave your little comments that make me so happy to read!

Inspiring Artist: Caitlin McGauley

Artist Caitlin McGauley has been a favorite of mine the minute I saw her work featured in my old issues of Domino Magazine.  I've loved and admired her paintings for sometime now, and the other day I
stumbled across her new website that you definitely have to check out!  Here are some of my favorites...

How cute is this one with the orange walls and turquoise couch!?  I love how playfully whimsical these are, yet totally chic.
I'm so impressed and in awe of all the attention to detail.  I studied painting in high school and college and always wanted to be able to interpret a real life setting like this.  Caitlin is so talented!

She's now selling some of her original artworks and I want one!  When she's not painting for herself, she is also working for some of my favorite brands like Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and Hermes.  You can also see her contributing on Lonny's Blog for Watercolor Wednesdays.   I can't wait to see what Caitlin does next!

Pinks + Tans

This is, hands down, my most favorite color palette for summer!  Who doesn't look good with tan skin and pink cheeks???  What I love most about this combo is the energy it exudes!  It just screams confident, sexy, woman!
(the leopard heels aren't bad either)
Translated into an interior like this is also breath taking!  I love how this wood console comes alive with a pink lamp, paired with this bold piece of art.  I want to re-create that canvas, playing with this color combo - so easy to do!
Bright pink with nudes is so casual, chic, and effortless!
Loving the zebra with these pink arm chairs and brown curtains.  Looks so easy and comfortable!
I want that pink purse and those hot pants!
Light pink and tans is so calming...I remember watching this episode of Sarah's House and was so intrigued by this room, it's breath taking!
Hot pink scarf and beautiful tan leather goods with slimming black, doesn't get much better than this!

Need to Chill

Damn this week flew by!  I barely had time to breathe, let alone think, so I am ready for the weekend.  My apologies for the lack of blog posts, I've literally been eaten alive by corporate America and Motherhood.  I've got a couple of tricks up my sleeve so stay tuned!  Have a super weekend everyone!

Fabulous Find: Furniture from Maison 140!!!

The other day I received an email from one of my favorite vendors in the valley, Hotel Surplus, that they just received a shipment of furniture from the Beverly Hills boutique hotel Maison 140.  The hotel, like many of Kor Group's other Los Angeles properties, is currently undergoing a makeover by Kelly Wearstler.

I was so excited to see what had come in that I rushed to take a look for myself - here are some of my favorite pieces.

These headboards were totally plush!  I purchased the yellow one for my latest client project in Manhattan Beach.  It's the perfect headboard for a sunny and bright beach pad!

I loved this Oriental style headboard - seriously contemplating it for my room, but have also had a tufted one on my wish list.

This tufted bench is perfect for the foot of a bed or as extra seating in a large living room.  There were a lot of nix and dings and of course the fabric needs to be recovered, but overall it was in good condition.

I loved these mirrors, especially the one above!

There were a couple of these that I would love to use as panels in a dining room, above a buffet, or on either end of bedside tables.

These bed side tables I'm using with the yellow tufted headboard.  The handles are a really cool acrylic and have a light airy vibe to them.

Loved all the French antiques and these little bedside tables were adorable.

This little number used to sit in the Bar Noir at Maison 140.  It wasn't in the best condition, oh well...

This little Macau chair will be used for the desk area of the beach pad.  It's either going to be painted white or turquoise blue.  Definitely needs some recovering - notice the rip in the leather???

So in love with this Greek Key cocktail table!!!  I'm debating grabbing this one for myself!
This is the perfect piece to house jewelry.  The hardware was really nice in person and overall in great shape!
I'm seriously tempted to purchase this dresser and use it in a foyer.  Again, it was in great condition and really beautiful.
More bedside tables - I loved the style of these ones.  Each room in the hotel had it's own furniture, so there are a lot of bedside tables, which is great if you are buying for one room, but makes it hard if you are doing many because no two rooms were alike.
A Louis Chair, needs some work, but love a great Louis.
This little marble and black cocktail table is very glam and there's 2 of them.  I'm thinking of using both as coffee tables grouped together.
Lamps, lamps, and more lamps!!!  The 2 yellow ones with white bamboo on them are being used for the beach pad.  I'm going to grab a white one for myself.  They are all quite large so you definitely need the space for them.

They also have all the artwork from the property.  Could be interesting used in the right room.

Here's a peek at the pieces in their original setting....
