Business Lady: My Calling Card

I'm crossing another thing off my list of "Things to Get Done Before Baby Arrives." My business cards are finally done and I must say I am absolutely thrilled at the way they turned out!!! I designed it myself with the help of Print EFX in La Canada, CA (I also designed my wedding invitation with them and they are the easiest to work with). The gray Imperial Trellis on the back is my favorite part of the card...it gives it just enough flair if I do say so myself!

Thirsty Thursdays: Pumpkin Latte

Today calls for a little something sweet and in the spirit of Trick-or-Treat! Food is pretty much the only thing I get pleasure from as I'm entering into my 35th week of pregnancy. So, I don't mind at all if I indulge in one of these bad boys to get me through the day. Cheers!

Pretty Pastels

I came across The Cross Design and Decor the other day and was quite inspired by what I found! Not only do they have one of the cutest shops that I want to visit on my next trip to Vancouver, but one of their latest projects is completely inspiring me to do an interior full of crisp whites, with lots of grays, aqua blues, and pinks!

Take a peek for yourself....

I love that they used a mirrored dresser to hold the TV!
I knew I should've purchased the mirrored dresser I saw on sale at Home Goods for $300 bucks a while back!

The living room is a gorgeous mix of ikats, florals, and bold pink. I think every room should have a chair that screams "Look at Me!" The hot pink is becoming my new favorite neutral, you really can mix this with any color and it looks good - reds, navy blues, turquoise, oranges, yellows, kelly greens, grays, browns, black...need I say more??

Finally, how dreamy are those blue walls, with a plush white tufted bed and floral pillows. I really am sold on all the pastels....now my problem is, can I make this work with the new baby on the way??? White is my favorite color of the moment, but I think it would get thrashed pretty quickly.

Kick out the jams yo...

I'm bringing the beats back to this blog! After being silent since my website was redesigned, I've felt a little restrained, inhibited, and maybe even a little boring. Music brings everything to life, makes everything a little more colorful, and for me evokes feelings, thoughts, and inspiration. So contrary to what many have said is a "faux pas" for having music on one's blog, I don't care, I couldn't resist cranking up the music. I hope you enjoy it and keep it playing...

The Baby Diaries: Nursery Art

I've had my eye on these 2 little guys for quite sometime now. Katie Armour, over at The Neotraditionalist (one of my favorite daily reads), first introduced me to Eastwitching Gallery on Etsy and I have been in love with these watercolors ever since! You may have seen "The King of Fox Hollow" as one of Katie's favorites in latest issue of Lonny. I think either of these regal creatures would add the perfect Anglo touch to my little one's nursery. The print is 8x10" and I'd like to frame it and lean it on the little white shelf right by the crib. I'm torn between the Fox and the Lion...

If I had more room I'd buy a collection to hang on the wall...here are some of my other favorites...

Pretty Little Things: Kendra Scott

I'm a jewelry girl. I'll take jewelry and expensive handbags any day over clothes and shoes. For me, jewelry is a very personal thing and one of the most unique ways one can express their true style. Every time I put on a favorite piece, I can remember when I got it, where I was at in that particular time in my life, and most often than not, it's something that speaks to me and makes me feel good.

I've had my eye on Kendra Scott's gorgeous little gems for quite sometime now. My 2 favorites (and it's hard to choose) are the 2 styles at the very top. There's nothing that brings more life and energy to a boring outfit than turquoise or green. I just love the way turquoise makes me feel - I think of it as my calling card, my stone, and what I love to wear most.

I love Kendra Scott's pieces because they can easily be incorporated into your daily wardrobe. I would pair any of these styles with jeans, a tee, and pashmina scarf, with my hair in a loose chignon, or dressed up with a cocktail dress for evening.

My other favorite thing about this line is the price. Styles range from $55 to $170! You can't beat that!

Stellar Stripes

I'm really digging horizontal stripes these days and the graphic contrast of black and white makes quite the statement! Mixed with a neutral palette of tans and browns it's dark and cozy at the same time. Notice the brown leather chair at the desk? It's a Humanscale Freedom Chair, which is arguably one of the best ergonomic chairs on the market. I am also partial to using them since I used to work for the company as Hospitality and A&D Specialist. I use the Liberty Chair at my own desk at home and love it! A comforable chair that serves a purpose is the best investment you can make for your back and your office. On my list of things to do this weekend: re-style and re-design my work area.
Here's a peek at my inspiration...

Thirsty Thursdays: Chai Tea Please

It's sure not a stiff one, but it's the next best thing to lift my mood and get me through to the weekend.
Cheers!

The Baby Diaries: No Regrets

After searching and shopping for the perfect baby bag, I ultimately purchased my first choice, the Kate Spade Nylon Maryanne. I was super excited and a little nervous at its arrival yesterday, since it's only available online, I wasn't able to see or try it on in person. Much to my surprise, it's utterly perfect and I have no regrets purchasing it! Not only is it the perfect size, color, and style, it's super functional for toting bottles, pacifiers, diapers, and comes complete with a diaper changing pad (a quite large one), tons of pockets, zipper compartments, and straps for hanging on the stroller (which made me fall in love with it). My favorite part about it, are the gleaming gold chain straps, patent leather trim, and everything is waterproof. I'm not really a shoe person, but I absolutely have a love for purses, so this one will add nicely to my collection, even if it is a baby bag.

Push Present: Signet Ring

I have always loved a classic signet ring. The first one I received was my Senior Class ring in white gold from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (in La Canada Flintridge, CA) that I still wear on my right hand middle ring finger. I get countless compliments on it and even though I have been out of high school for 16 years, I love wearing it and it's still in style!

So, last week when my very sweet husband took me to Tiffany to see if I liked the signet ring as a push present, I replied that "I would absolutely love one, especially since we are having a boy!" It's classic, has a masculine quality, and it's something I would wear daily as a reminder of my husband and my little boy.

To complete the ring I want my little baby' boy's monogram engraved on top and his birth date on the inside. Now, I just need to decide on a monogram. I think I'm leaning more toward the script.

Fall Must Have: Faux Fur Throws

I love a big 'ole cozy and comfy blankie when the weather gets chilly. Last year I decided to throw down for a faux fur and I haven't looked back in regret.

This weekend I'm digging it out of hibernation and re-styling my bedroom just like this. I'm in countdown mode for the arrival of my little baby boy due Dec. 4th, so I can't think of a better way to nest than in comfort and style.

I Heart Pamplemousse Design

While browsing through one of my new favorite blogs, Moth Design, I discovered a new interior design firm (new to me, but not new to the design world) named Pamplemousse Design. Delphine Krakoff, who I've come to know through the social pages of fashion magazines is the stylish French business woman behind the design firm.
Delphine grew up in Paris, worked for luxury fashion houses Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton, before moving to New York City to work at Ralph Lauren and Coach. Her innate sense of style and eye for collecting made the transition to establishing her own interior design firm in 2000 seamless.
Here are a few of my favorite shots of her inspiring work!

I love the aqua blue ostrich textile used on these Louis style dining chairs. I'm thinking of using a similar textile, but in black ostrich, to recover my pair of Louis chairs. What do you think of this look?
