Ibiza Dreaming...

It's hard to believe 3 years ago around this time I was traveling with my best single gal pal through London and Barcelona en route to soak up the summer sun and dance the nights away in Ibiza...

...Now we are both married and I have a baby on the way. It's funny to look back at the chapter's of ones life and to see how far we've come and changed. I've lived 6 of my 9 lives, so the other 3 I am holding on to with dear life. Here's to the end of summer and the halcyon days of yore!

My dream starter house...

A couple nights a week my husband and I like to take walks through the back streets of our sleepy Brentwood neighborhood. We always pass by this house and I think it would be the perfect starter house for us! Well, it just went on the market and for a cool $1,325,000 you can have this 2 bedroom 2 bath, 1700 sq. ft home right off Montana Avenue by the Brentwood Country Club!
I can imagine having year long BBQs on this patio and entertaining outdoors all the time! How perfect does the teak furniture look!!?? You can't beat the mild Mediterranean weather complete with the smell of fruit trees and beachy breezes that comes with living on the West Side. It even comes with a guest house that would be perfect for a little design studio! Sigh...a girl can dream!

There's no better way to enjoy this day celebrating my sister's birthday than with a little trip away to The Parker Palm Springs!!!

In case you have never been, I highly recommend brunching al fresco at Norma's. Be sure to bring your appetite because the portions can practically feed a family of 4 on one serving of pancakes! The french toast is dipped in Rice Krispies and can easily double as dessert, there will be no counting calories here today!!??

And once our bellies are full and the buzz has set in, it's sun and pool time...looking forward to a great day with my family!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Paris Dreaming

I'm off on my Vespa to spin around my favorite city in the whole wide world! Today I am Paris dreaming!

Before I start my day I'm going to stop by a little corner cafe for a cup of French pressed coffee (and maybe a cigarette or two - we are in France remember!) and then do a little blogging from my dreamy apartment with a window view overlooking the Eiffel Tower. (Seriously, can I move in!!??)

Later, I'm gonna pop into the Cafe de Flore for lunch and enjoy the people watching...

...the day wouldn't be complete with a few macarons from Laduree

...and then I think I'll hop on my bike to see where the wind takes me...

...and just might skip in the rain...

Before heading to my local corner cafe to order a bottle and a bucket of champagne...

...and enjoying my little day dream of Paris. Thursdays just got a whole lot easier...

Amateur Hour

I'll be sitting this New Year's Eve out: There will be no crazy clubs, international DJs, taxi lines, DUI check points, and amateur partiers ruining my NYE. (and I sure won't have a red plastic cup in my hand like the one in the lower left corner of the pic below - hehehe)

Instead, I'm off to the desert to get my pool and spa time on! But don't you worry, there will definitely be a champagne glass in my hand at midnight, and some Blackjack being played at the Indian Casino! Bing Crosby's here we come! Have a Happy New Year!

Weekend Getaway: I'm off to the Desert!

After a 3 month summer hiatus from the sweltering heat of Palm Springs, this is the first weekend returning to my favorite desert oasis to kick off the real "season!" On the agenda: pool time and backyard BBQs with the fam, antiquing with my Mom (PS has the best second-hand furniture stores!)

hitting the Indian casino with my husband and brother (we love the blackjack tables!),

spa time at the JW Marriott,

and of course cocktails at Mr. Parker's.

Time to become a weekend local again for the next 8 months! Tan lines and gambling loot required upon returning...promise!
